NASA Employee Suspended for Blogging on the Job
Today it was reported on FCW (Federal Computer Week) that a NASA employee was suspended for 180-days for a violation of the HATCH Act. The report stated this employee was “soliciting campaign contributions and writing politically partisian blog posts” while at work. Click here to read the whole story.
We know that working at NASA has many perks and geeking out on the computer is one of them. It’s a fact that many people read blogs while at work but this is the first case I have heard of where someone was penalized for writing on a blog at work as a violation of electioneering laws.
Only the federal government would give someone a six-month suspension then hold the door open for them to come back to work.
