Mystery Solved
On Monday night I received a call from a friend who said she was driving across the intersection of 13 at Friendly’s and saw a huge light in the sky that was coming straight down towards the earth at a
n incredible speed. She described it as a fire ball that looked like it was going to hit in the Crisfield area.
During the same time my daughter was outside with a friend and she was facing the South West and saw the light in the sky and exclaimed it was the biggest shooting star she had ever seen. Her friend wasn’t quick enough to see it.
And yet another friend was driving home and also stated that he saw a huge shooting star too.
Apparently hundreds of folks from New Jersey to VA saw what has turned out to be a Meteorite the size of a Mango that flew across the sky and was visible at dusk and shot through our earths atmosphere and shot through the roof of a Doctors office in Lorton, VA.
Interestingly, Lorton is nearly directly across the Bay from us here in Pocomoke, and this is why those of us who were lucky enough to see it got such a great show.
As the Astronomer on Public TV always says ..”Keep your Eyes to the Sky, You Never Know What You’ll See”
