Frustrated Reader Posts About Christine Sheddy Case
I wanted to post a request to all of the readers of this blog. I have been attempting to find a way to garner the attention of the national media with respect to the disappearance of
Christine Sheddy. It has been a frustrating effort to say the least.
I can not begin to understand why the national media and worse yet the regional media (Baltimore and Washington) has shown no intrest in this story. I originally thought that once these media outlets were made aware of the plight of this family and this woman that they would line up to cover the story and thus creatiea sense of urgency to resolve the case.
It has not been the case.
So I began to wonder what is important to the national media outlets. I can almost guarantee the name Christine Sheddy would be a household name by now had she absconded with billions of hard earned dollars of working people. Or had Christine contracted the swine flu, media would be interested.
If Christine had needed a bail out of billions of tax dollars to stay afloat everyone would know her. But the reality is she chose to be a mother, a title once held in high reverence in this country and around the world but today seems to be unimportant the eyes of general media. But beyond frustrated I have become fearful that this some day could be me or a relative and all the screaming in the world will not be enough to solicit support from the people who could most easily provide it.
This story could very well have been any of us or our children.
My fear is also rooted in the idea that because we are not in a “major media” market that our lives are somehow viewed as being worth less than the lives of those in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles. I need to understand why Christine is not looked upon in the same way as Lacy Peterson, or Stacy Peterson, or Chandra Levy or Lisa Steibec, or Elizbeth Smart.
We have to send a message to the nation that a missing person no matter where they are from or who they are precieved to be are all valued the same.
As we approach Mothers Day this weekend please keep Christine, Lynn, their family, friends and most importantly Christine’s three children in your thoughts and prayers. And if you get a chance please contact some of folks listed below and make them aware of your concern for this woman and her family. The one e-mail or letter or phone call you make could be the difference between closure and a lifetime of uncertainty.

Unfortunately, with the number of missing children nationwide, any attention given to a local adult is shadowed.
Think about it, Oprah Winfrey has a one hour program about an English couple that had a child abducted in Portugal. NOT EVEN AMERICA!
It is appalling that more attention is not focused here in American on the issue of missing children and adults.
Corporate CEO’s can garner millions of dollars from their businesses to line theri own personal pockets yet none of the business earnings can be directed to taking care of the needs of Americans. Americans need to stop focusing on political parties and government for a moment and start focusing on the way major corporations are “screwing” the American public everyday.
You can bet your “sweet bippy” that if a corporate executive had a child or family member go missing there would be unlimited funds to search for them.

That a human being is missing is bad enough. But the facts surrounding Christine’s disappearance and what we ALL KNOW happened to her; along with the fact that public officials that are being PAID to uphold the law know who was involved and what the outcome was is absolutely unacceptable. These circumstances alone should be deserving of national attention.

Larosebud,
You are absolutely right. It is obvious however that the right buttons have not yet been pushed. We all know there is strength in numbers and there are enough daily readers to this blog to make the impossible happen. We must continue yelling. Whether we create the noise in mass numbers or eventually shame an otherwise shameless entity into helping a family and community to find closure and justice we have to keep up the contact to theese outlets. It is almost guaranteed that the moment the first satelite truck rolls into the city the urgency level to solve this case will be dramaticaly increased. Please continue to let people know the citizens of Pocomoke will not rest until this case is solved and someone is held accountable for their actions on November 13th 2007.

It is appalling knowing someone whom was a daughter, mother, sister and friend is more or less swept under the table. It kills me knowing Christine is out there somewhere and the one thing everyone wants is her to be brought home. This world is such a cruel place. I just do not understand how a person can sleep at night knowing what happened to her. They are a void of human space. To the ones that truly knew Christine hope and your voice is the most important thing right now. Most importantly her children need closure.

Hello All,
Sorry I haven’t posted sooner. I have had a busy couple of days. Thank you all for keeping up the fight to bring Christines story to everyone’s attention. God knows we cant do it alone. I did receive a response from Joe Krebs…I will let you know how that goes. I will post later on this evening after I get ALL CHRISTINES CHILDREN to bed. (I told you I have been busy). I will be posting soon.

Lynn,
That is awesome. I was starting to lose faith but not determination. Now it is time to go after the National Media even harder. I hope those prospects pan out and I will keep reaching out to everyone I can and not stop until ultimate closure is reached.
I just want to beg everyone who reads this blog to please continue sending in the e-mails to all of the media outlets listed before and anyone else you can possibly think of who may be able to offer a voice. The closure of this case HAS TO BE REACHED. Even the limited sucess we have had to this point goes to show that if you knock loud enough, hard enough, and long enough someone will answer and listen. Even if you have to be obnoxious (I am sometimes) to get it done.
LETS KEEP THE PRESURE ON!

This is a little off this particular post but I’ll comment anyway. Those who have followed this case for awhile will remember when Tia’s 2 cousins (Tes and Jen Bowden) came on here and commented like bats out of hell, using foul language and threatening tones. At the time they were both living in NC. A few months ago, for some unknown reason, they both moved back to SW Baltimore City. Bowen (real name Bradds) was picked up on an outstanding warrant and Tes was arrested for heroin possession. Within a month Tes was again arrested for possession of heroin and this past Wednesday was charged with prostitution. So 3 arrests in as many months.
This is all very very sad to me, because of all the family members, I can see a thread of decency in Tes. She had said that everything she has ever done has only hurt herself. Which is true. She doesn’t have all the harrassment, thefts, and assualts, attempted murders alot of the family members have in their pasts. She admits she has problems.
The father of 2 of Tes’ children was found lying on a street in Glen Burnie, MD, and died last Friday. Heart failure due to a compromised heart, caused no doubt, from drug usage. I don’t want to hear of her death next, so if everyone can say a prayer for her, maybe another miracle will happen.

Lynn,
I am glad to see it looks like the momentum may be ready to turn. I have wondered if there was going to be a day when we could say it looks like the good guys are winning.
I know it seems like I am being redundant but I want to remind everyone this is far from over and every scrap of communication and support is needed so we can not rest. It is great that things seem to be getting better and I have a really good feeling that this is on the right road. But we need results and answers and I know the citizens of Delmarva and of Pocomoke in particular are capable of pulling together and gaining those results. Let’s all pray and hope that closure is near for this family, these children and your community.
God Bless you all and I want to wish all of the Mothers at this sight an early Happy Mothers Day.

If you check her myspace page you can tell she was trying to turn her life around. I was heartbroken when she was arrested in Baltimore. Unfortunately she is a victim of circumstance. For reasons I cant explain, I feel a sense of compassion for this girl. I dont know why, I just do. So I will pray that God gives her the strength to get back on the right path and again turn her life around.

Native,
Thanks for those links. I started sending emails. I don’t know if it will help anything; but it certainly can’t hurt. I did not realize they were links. So if anyone is as dumb as I am…all you have to do is click on each one of those yellow boxes, and an email or a box will come up for you to send them your comments. Did you see Drew Peterson on TV? UGH!! Look how long that took and he probably killed at least 2 wives. Godspeed everybody!

I saw Drew on television alright. He thinks everyone is supposed to believe he’s innocent and the incidents with the 2 wives, we can all be attribute to bad luck. What’s most disturbing, is that Stacey would still be alive had the death of Kathleen been properly investigated. Kathleen made atleast 18 telephone calls to make complaints against Drew and none were taken seriously, including calls to his superiors at the PD. Drew sure had alot of persons in postions of authority fooled, but there’s no way he will be able to fool 12 jurors.

Here are a few more e-mails everyone can try. Some of them are reeeeaaaallll long shots but maybe if they hear from more people it will spark some intrest and keep Christine’s story going. I would particularly look at the national outlets but also WMAR, WBAL, WTTG and WJLA. They are the Balt Wash channels that have yet to respond.
Good Luck Everyone!!!!
