Easter Message from Christine’s Mom to Anyone Who Will Listen
I know first hand what Mike McDermott is capable of.
In the begining of Christines case I was getting nowhere with LE. I cant tell you how many times I had to reiterate to them that my daughter didnt run away.
Finally a radio personality in Delaware directed me to the Pocomoke Tattler.
What a blessing.
I could finally get my daughters case out to the public.
The police wouldnt talk to me, but the public would!!
After posting on the tattler for awhile, I received a call from Detective McDermott, long story short….he started to scream at me that I should stop my shenanigans on the tattler because I was pissing people off.
Then he went on to call my daughter a “SPONGE” because she had a limited work history. This was the straw that broke the camels back!!!
My daughter was a full time mother, she helped in my husbands business, doing office work. Christine and the kids lived with us. Just because she wasnt getting a pay check every week doesnt qualify her for “sponge status”. She did the best she could, those children were always clean, they never went hungry, and she loved them with all her heart.
Now, after I had stopped crying, Detective McDermott, said that he would call me everyday to give me an update on the case. I told him he didnt have to do that, I would be happy with an email or a quick phone call twice a week. He insisted he would call me everyday.
HE CALLED ME ONCE!!!!
So much for McDermott being a man of his word. He lied to me, he treated me with disrespect, and most importantly, disrespected my daughter.
So I can honestly say, I know exactly how the Burkes were treated by McDermott.
He has no shame, he thinks he is above the law.
Nobody is above the law.
Pride comes before a fall.
I will not sit back quietly and wait for justice.
God knows I have done everything LE has told me to do.
I have played by thier rules, where did it get me?
Right back to square one!!!
Enough is enough.

Happy Easter Mr. Mayor

Strange how they worked so diligently to find Franky Outten, they even went as far as to call a psychic in and she actually solved the case and led them to Franky’s body and who killed him.
It all comes down to if they want to or not, if they can find one cow in bung flip Egypt out of billions that has mad cow disease, they can find a person(s) if they want too, cows can’t talk, people do which should make it much easier.
I do know, or I think you now have, one officer that will not give up if they let him work. Keep the faith

Ham,
I agree with your point but you are wrong in the case of Frankie Outten. If it wasn’t for Frankie’s father’s persistance the case would probably still be unsolved. The phsycic that supposedly solved the case was not even hired by the sherrif’s office as the tv show claimed. As a matter of fact Frankie’s father hired several private investigators out of his own pocket to work the case. He put pressure on the county and hated most the officials at that time and fought for changes. The tv show depicted one phsycic that supposedly solved the case but they didn’t speak the 100% truth. Many facts were changed to the episode to make it a little more exciting. They also failed to tell you that there was more than one phsycic that worked the case and how many facts that were wrong the first several times around. This case was not solved by a phsycic or by investigators but a snitch already in jail. His body was found after several search attempts. Frankie was only found because of his families persistance, otherwise he would probably still be undiscovered.

You hit the nail on the head…IF THEY LET HIM WORK . You can have the best of intentions, but if your boss wont let do your job, there’s nothing you can do. I have always maintained that being the mayor and a detective is a conflict of interest. McDermott made it abundantly clear to me that my daughter was not of good character (in McDermott’s words SPONGE) because of the people she had been staying with, and her work history, etc. To have that much power is frightening. I dont blame the officers that want to find christine, I put the blame on those that have tied their hands so they cant do their job and find Christine. It is a shame.

Thanks for the info, I don’t personally believe in physics but that TV episode on his discovery sure gave the physic all the credit.

I searched and couldn’t find anything at all on Franky Outten. [strange]
Franky went missing not unlike your daughter and the local LE couldn’t find his body. My ex-brother-in-law was one of Franky’s best friends and he would never speak of him after he vanished.
There have been a few people here that just disappeared and have never been found.

Lynn,
I do not know all of the details and I was actually young when the murder took place, but as I remember it Frankie went missing (I am not sure for how long) and was later found to have been murdered. I believe teh culprit was apprehended and convicted. There is another case from right around the same time as i remember it a gentleman who worked for a car dealership drove off the lot one day was never seen or heard from again. I think his name is/was Robert (Bobby) Miles. I know in the case of Frankie, it was defenitly his family that really stayed on LE to get closure. I guess some things never change.

Lynn,
When you received the ONE CALL from Mike McDermott, wasn’t the only information he received coming from Jr., Tia, maybe Levi and his mother, Joyce? He had never bothered to contact you or your family until you made a comment here on the Tattler about that. In fact, he never bothered to contact anyone to get any information about Christine, except from those that had been there at the farm that day of her disappearance. Isn’t that correct? If not please correct me.

Hi my name is Mike Mcdermott and I watched Russ Blake destroy incriminating documents that could be used against us, OH CRAP, I hope I wasnt recorded saying something stupid? I was? Guess I should call Joel Todd and have the real crook arrested. I have rights you know.
I think if you really want the right to privacy you should remain silent, if you open your mouth you are responsible for what comes out of it. Jesus said its not what a man puts in his mouth that defiles him, its what comes out of it.

Dear Mayor, JR., and Tia,
There are rare occasions in life when a single solution can solve the wants and needs of so many people. I believe, in my humble oppinion, that I have stumbled upon one of those solutions.
Mayor- you are not fond of the Burkes and probably wish they would move or at least just shut up. But how can you make that happen you ask? Well lets look at what the Burkes are trying to accomplish.
1.End the tenure of one Mr. Russell Blake- I do not think you can stop that or aid it for that matter so this issue is a push.
2.Create transperancy in local goverment- they pretty much have already with this website so lets not go down that road.
Ok…stopping them from persuing political reform will be dificult so lets get out of that idea.
What else have they been a huge supporter of and what have you been very publicly critisized about………then it hit me…..Christine Sheddy!!
They believe Miss Sheddy is no longer here because of foul play. Any logical thinking person has to realize that Christine is not here now..so either she left of her own volition or she did in fact meet with foul play. Your stance on this case by your words and actions would lead me to believe you think she just decided to leave. Here is the great thing about both theories..either way a crime was committed; child endangerment or murder. A crime Mike, get it, your a detective how ironic is that an unsolved crime and you are a detective. You are a lucky guy.
Enough with the rambling here is the SOLUTION. You have to find an alive Christine Sheddy and charge her with child endangerment. Just think of how you will make the Tattler, the Burkes, me and dozens of other people look. We would be wrong all the long, the Burkes would look a little less credible, and you could quit holding out hope on a trumped up “wire tapping” charge. Your enemies would suffer a defeat and it may even help you with that whole pesky political reform thing. For you it would be winner winner chicken dinner.
Now the other two. You guys have to help the Mayor. The first rule of investigating is exclude as many possibilities as possible with respect to the case. “Well what can we do about that” you may ask. PASS THAT POLYGRAPH. Thats right all you have to do is pass the polygraph and the primary “unofficial” suspects look a lot more credible and the Mayor can proceed with the “Hunt for Christine”.
Tia just think of how sweet the revenge of you passing the polygraph will be. All of the people on here that have made statements about you , your family, your parenting skills, and your choice in a mate will be wrong! You’ll be a winner too.
Jr…what can I say you would be the biggest winner of them all. Pass the polygraph and you would be pretty much vinicated, of at least this crime. Think of how great it will be to tell everyone on this website, in the city, your former neighbors, the snitches that are stirring up trouble for you, the police and everyone else that has vilified your otherwise good name to kiss your “well you know”.
Anyway I think I have found a way to make the besmirched of this website regain their credibility and clear their names. I beg all of you to just try my plan. I think alot of people will be suprised with the results. I do not think I will be one of them.

My heart breaks for the family of Christine. But the police are doing the best they can and posting complaints won’t help. They are underpaid and overworked and have many many cases. My deceased wife was a “good mother” who was also an addict. She would leave at a moments notice and be gone for a couple of days. She put herself in dangerous situations with bad people who do bad things. All the while her devoted mother supported her and told everyone who would listen what a “good” mother she was. Her parents helped her fight me for custody even though they knew she took our toddler to a crack house! During the divorce she accused me of child abuse and I had to defend myself at great expense. All the while she was still using. I was awarded custody and NEVER got a penny in court ordered child support. The only job my ex ever had was helping her father with his business but that was rare and she moved from one boyfriend to another. When she didn’t have a boyfriend to take care of her she lived at home. For years I told the boys that one day their mom would be healthy and be everything they want and need. When she was doing well I drove them to her for weekend visitation. When she wasn’t doing well I drove them to their maternal grandparents because I thought it was important that they have a relationship with that side of their family. When she died of an overdose I was the one who had to tell the boys their mother was dead. Their grandmother couldn’t bring herself to tell anyone the truth but tried to tell the boys and anyone who would listen that she died from a heart problem. At 41. My oldest son got a copy of the autopsy and found out the truth. Grandma lied and his mom really died the way she lived.
The reason for writing this is to point out that what happened with my ex is not that uncommon and police know this. If they begin every investigation without benefit of similar scenarios to work with they would waste alot of time. For example: Whenever a spouse dies they immediatly look at family members first because statistically it is the obvious place to start.
I hope and pray that the case is solved so the family can have some peace. I still cry for my sons not having their biological mother because they never knew her the way she could be, only the way she ended up.

It is sad that I have to push so hard to be heard. I also understand they have a job to do, and unfortunately you cant befriend the police who are trying to help you. So I either let go of what I thought was a friendship and wait for those promised phone calls. I am determined to believe that God has not forgotten me and hope that my detective wont forget me either. I am still counting on him to do the right thing. And he will.

Ognir Rrats,
I am so sorry for you and your children’s loss. The only thing you can do to ease their loss a little is to make sure they are told about their mother before she became an addict. There had to be some good things, like her favorite color, food, type of music, the moment she held each one of the boy’s in her arms for the first time. I know it can be hard to remember the good times when the bad out weigh the good. But for the boys sake, try to remember and let them know, that she loved them before she got sick.
Now, as to Christine, her family and friends have said she was not a drug addict. She got mad at her mom and decided to move out, thinking things would be better than arguing with her mother. The problem with most of us mothers, is we want the best for our children, whether they believe it or not. That is all Christine’s mom wanted, for her to be the best she could be, like going out and get a steady job, to start with.
Her family and friends are not saying Christine was perfect, she was a young woman with 3 young children, maybe trying to find herself. But she was a good loving mother, and a good friend. None of us on this earth is perfect, we all make mistakes, some of us more than others. Christine thought if she moved away from home, she could prove to her mother she could make it. Unfortunately, when she moved in with Tia and Jr. she made one of the biggest mistakes of her life. She realized that, after only a few days, and that is why Levi was supposed to pick her up the day of her disappearance.
Levi and his mom are telling Christine’s children that she abandoned them. For what reason they are telling them that, only they know. In the end, the children are the ones that suffer the most. Because they think, if they had done something different, that maybe mom would still be here.

Ognir Rrats, (ringo starr spelled backwards)
Thank you for your sympathy. Let me put your concerns to rest. I have never sugar coated any of Christine’s actions to Law Enforcement. I was brutally honest with them. They got the good, the bad, and the ugly. My daughter was not perfect….I never claimed she was. I am smart enough to know that the police cant do a thourough investigation if they dont have all the facts. I would never hold any information back from LE. Just ask any of the detectives. I told them from the begining, if you need to know ANYTHING, no matter how personal, just ask, I will answer honestly. And I have.
I cry for my grand children because they did know their mother, and she was taken from them. She didnt leave them. She never would. I am sorry that your kids have lost their mother to an addiction. My grandchildren have lost their mother because of the actions of a few wicked, depraved, people. Justice will come for Christines children. They will be able to say, MY MOTHER LOVED ME, SHE DIDNT LEAVE ME, SHE WAS TAKEN FROM ME.

I was in no way trying to compare Christine with my ex. I think police have to deal with situations like mine more often and maybe that is why they look at things the way they do. Justice delayed is not just denied but I hope the police can get the case moving forward and arrest and convict the people responsible. My apologies if you felt I was in some way impugning your character or that of Christine, I was not. I in no way want to victimize you or your family on a public forum, you have certainly been through enough.

Ognir Rrats,
I know you werent comparing Christine to your ex. So no apologies necessary. Please dont, in any way, think that I thought you meant any harm. I just wanted to clarify to you that I would do anything to help steer my daughter in the right direction. If she made mistakes, I would let her know. As a parent you only want the best for your children. My life hasnt been perfect, and I dont expect to get a mother of the year award. I have made many mistakes, but I have also learned from them. My daughter had made many mistakes, her biggest mistake in life was to trust people. She was very easy to talk too, and she could make anyone laugh. I just cant imagine what was said or done that would make them kill her. It
just makes no sense at all.
I agree with Sara…………You do indeed have character, morals, and a good outlook in life. Your children are very lucky to have you. Thank you for posting. It was well recieved.

I have not posted on here in a week I think but I guess it is safe to say that our three friends have declined to participate in my “plan”. So, I have a new plan, one that is a little more realistic but only with the help of everyone who visits this website.
Step 1.
I have spent the last week e-mailing the governor, Lt. governor, Stolfuz, Ellmore, Kratovil, WTTG, WRC, WBAL, WMAR, WJZ, CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, WAVY, Dateline, 60 Minutes and every other TV station in the markets of Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia, and Norfolk as well as continuing to try to get an aired segment on AMW. I intend to reach out to these folks everyday. My theory is that this case is in desperate need of national attention. The goal is that if this case does get national attention, or at least regional to start, investigators will feel a much greater pressure to solve this case. The more eyes that are on this case the greater the public outcry will be and eventually the politicians that control all law enforcements will have to respond. And if the outcry does not get it done the lure of a national spotlight will make someone slip up with the tongue. Unfortunately I do not think this plan will work unless everyone who visits this sight continues to contact all of the previously mentioned media outlets and politicians as well. If we create a deluge of requests someone at some point will have to react. Hopefully once one of these folks responds inertia will develop and the national attention will come.
Step 2.
I know that Christine is listed on several missing persons web sites but I have come across dozens that she is not on. All of us that are concerned about this case have to attempt to get this on as many of these sights as possible. Even if we do not believe that Chrsitine is actually somewhere missing we have to remember there is another group of people who want to believe equally that she is. If we expect and demand law enforcement organizations to accept and persue our theory we have to show that we are willing to work equally hard to persue their theory. If we do this then there is absolutely no excuse for them not recipicating the effort. The secondary benefit of this is that once again we help to get Christine’s story into the national eye and possibly getting it read by someone who can and will make the difference we have been looking for.
I know there have been many people who have been workng very hard on this case since day one. Although I fear that many people, my self included, have been relying on an attack of concious by someone which would lead to the break in this case. It is clear that is not going to happen because some people do not have a concious.
Lynn,
Obviously Christine, you, your family, Christine’s friends and most importantly your grandchildren are the victims in all of this. I hope that my actions and the actions of everyone will in some way help bring you peace, closure and justice. Please let me know if you have concerns about contacting any of these people or organizations. You are much, much , closer to this crime than I and I do not want to negatively interfere in any way. So please reach out to me if you think doing anything I have talked about should not be done or does not make sense.
Everyone else,
Please try to reach out to your elected officials, media outlets and as many of the missing person web sites as possible. We have to keep this story in the local press to get it to the regional press. And it has to be in the regional media to get it seen nationaly and generate the public out cry.
I know we can help bring closure to this family.

Native on LI,
I started to tear up when I read all that you have been doing in efforts to help bring justice to my sister and family. It’s just been so hard from day one in getting help from LE. It’s like we are working against the people who are supposed to be helping us. If you read back into the archives (which I don’t think it lists all the articles), you will find posting from me on why I am fed up with the lack of professionalism. Since this case has been mishandled it left the family with the burden and worry and work of finding Christine- not just the devastation of losing her. We’ve hired a PI, and had a $5000.00 reward. We have done as you are doing and reached out to many people such as senators, governors, judges, and media also in the tri-state area. This is the catchy part: They all contact Worchester County and they say that they can not comment except they are doing what they can. That is as far as it gets. Early in the investigation Dan Jaden from Joe Biden’s office offered my mom 125 retired officers to help look for Chrsitine and they were denied by WCBOI. Christine’s case has been in the wrong hands. Several detectives have been handed the case, but the same man (McDermott) who verbally abused my family still pulls the strings. So you see when people like yourself take time out to help us in this fight it brings tears to my eyes because we have traveled a long hard rode. Thanks you

I am sorry for the late post just ended a 15 hour day. I have finally started to recieve replys from the e-mail barage. Please forgive me for not having all of the details in front of me I work in New York during the week so I do not have access to my normal e-mail and am relying on my mother back on Delmarva to forward me the e-mails to a buisness e-mail. Anyway, I recieved an e-mail from Delegate Ellmore’s office requesting I call him next week when he returns from vacation to discuss the e-mail I sent him. Not to down play the delegate but the most exciting news was from Joe Krebs an anchor at WRCTV in Washington expressing intrest in Christine’s dissapearence and saying that he want to do a feature on her story as part of his regional cold case investigations. As soon as I have all of his information I will post it here so that your family can reach him. Not reading the e-mail yet and only going on what was read to me this sounds very promising and may be the regional break you need to carry this story to the next level. I do not want to get to excited about this but it is hard not to. I really hope that this works out. He had asked me to reply to him so I will but not being any where as close to you two on this crime I think it would be best if Mr. Krebs got the bulk of the details from you. Again I want to be cautiously opptomistic because I imagine you have had media reach out to you like this in the past and maybe been discouraged to do a story due to the local LE. But I think that is part of this story.
To everyone on here,
PLEASE, we can not give up now. I feel as though we have the power to create momentum and finally get this case the media attention it so rightly deserves. Again, please submit as may e-mails as possible to as many people as possible. Every newspapper, radio station, TV station, and blog site you can get to. E-mail your friends, co-workers, politicians, Federal law enforcement, talk show hosts, religious leaders, everyone you can possibly thnk of to get the name Christine Sheddy in the mouth of as many people as possible. We can do this, we will do this. There is no other alternative. So please I know so many of you have already done so much. Again seeing the work of the good people at the search made me once again to be proud to be from Pocomoke.
Speaking of politicians…
Bringing closure to this family and justice for Chrsitine will be the single greatest defeat anyone could hand the corrupt goverment of that city. It will be a loud cry out from everyone “If you won’t do, we will do it”. There will be no escaping the publicity of this and all of the questions that have been refused to be answered by certain politicians in that town will finally be answered.
To the “evil doers”
If you are reading this, we will not give up or back down. If this opporutnity to bring Christine’s story to the forefront of the media then we will find another one that will and another and another. Do the right thing give up, we are coming period point blank 17 months or not. Closure will be had.
Again everyone please just go to the “contact us” portion of any media outlet and beg and yell for their attention. If enough of us do it they will have no other choice but to listen if for no other reason that to shut us all up. I will post back as soon as I get alll of the information. Excuse the typing and spelling at the end of 15 hours the keys start to run together .

Attention: To all persons having knowledge of Christine’s murder and are afraid to come forward.
I know it must be hard to come forward with information. To have witnessed or heard of such a brutal murder, to be intimidated by the very people that have no remorse for their actions. These very people use fear as a weapon to secure your silence. I cant suggest that I know what you are going through. But I can tell you there is only one way you can be free of your fear. You have to find the courage to do the right thing and tell what you know. I know that drugs were a factor in how this all went down. If I know it, dont you think the cops know it too? But here ARE the facts…THE COPS DONT CARE ABOUT THE DRUGS. All they care about is finding my daughters remains. When we do that, then the guilty parties will be arrested and put in jail. You wont have to live in fear anymore. I also know that there are family members out there that know what happened and are afraid to tell on their siblings. I just want to say to those people……please, please help me. I dont want revenge, I want justice. I want to bring my daughter home and give her a proper burial. I want her murderers to be held responsible for her death. Nothing more, nothing less. I cant have any of that unless you come forward and do the right thing. The truth will eventually come out, it is only a matter of time. I would rather it come out sooner than later. Put yourself in my place. If one of your family members was murdered and tossed aside like garbage(because you dont want to get in trouble), how would you feel? I can tell you how I feel…helpless. This is my child, I will never hear her voice again, I will never be able to touch her, I will never be able to laugh at her jokes, I will never be able to do anything ever again with her. Her children will have to grow up with out their mother. My grand daughter told me the other day that she is afraid she will forget what her mother’s voice sounded like. She asks me why this has happened to her, why her mother? How do I answer her? Nothing I can say will ever bring her mother back. I have done everything in my power to find my daughter and bring her killers to justice….I refuse to give up. I wont rest until there is justice for Christine. I need your help. It is going to take alot of courage to stand up and do whats right. It will take one person to come forward and put an end to our misery. Help me to make this right. I cant do this alone. Now is the time, Junior is out of town, so is Justin, you have nothing to fear. Please act now, the bad guys have been free long enough. Lets put an end to their reign of terror.
