Now that the temperature shot up and then back down below freezing if you haven’t you have  a sidewalk of solid ice on your hands.

If you aren’t in good physical shape you can land yourself in the ER with a coronary.

Now its time to dig out and clear the sidewalks in front of your homes.

Market Street being a State Highway has been pretty clear with both the SHA and city snow plows working overtime. If most of the side streets look like 6th Street then its going to be a while before the city gets to you.

A shovel works well but a tractor is better. According to my wife the city code requires property owners to clear their sidewalks within 48 horus of a snowstorm.

The City of Pocomoke is one of the few communities on the shore NOT to post a special message to citizens on it’s website. Without calling it’s not clear what the official position of the city government will be on this storm.

The storm was pretty intense for a while there with whiteout conditions and literally tons of snow being dropped. If you are able to get out and shovel by all means but please use your heads and be safe.

Bob Hawkins of District 1 filed to retain his seat a few weeks ago but is now being challenged by Mr. Harvey Lynch of Fourteenth Street.

Honnis Cane longtime Councilman of District 2 who moved out of his District nearly 2 years ago has not filed to run again, and that seat is now being sought by a Mr. Duane Bias of Oxford Street.

If no one steps up to the plate and runs against Mr. Bias, then he will simply walk into the office on April 5th.  Come on Pocomoke lets have a real election, this is America!

Anyone who is interested in running and working toward making a difference in our town is encouraged to do so.  You have until 5pm today.
